Each round is scored based on Stableford points, but our handicap rules introduce an exciting twist! The system rewards consistency while ensuring players don’t run away with an easy lead.

πŸ“œ Rule 1 – The Bandit Check
πŸ”Ή Score 5 or more under par? You’re clearly on fire! -1 point handicap adjustment to keep things competitive.

πŸ“œ Rule 2 – Keeping It Together
πŸ”Ή Score between level par and 5 over par? Well played! But to keep things fair, you’ll also lose 1 point from your handicap.

πŸ“œ Rule 3 – The Champion’s Tax
πŸ† Win the round? Great job – but success comes at a price! You take a -1 point handicap hit.

πŸ“œ Rule 4 – The Podium Shuffle
πŸ₯‡ Winner β†’ -2 points
πŸ₯ˆ Second Place β†’ -2 points
πŸ₯‰ Third Place β†’ -1 point
(Time to prove you can handle the pressure!)

πŸ“œ Rule 5 – The Blow-Up Rule
πŸ’₯ Score +12.5 over par or worse? It happens to the best of us! We’ll add +1 to your handicap to help you bounce back.

πŸ“œ Rule 6 – The League Standard
πŸ“Š If your round is worse than the current round average, you’ll get a +1 point boost to your handicap. This keeps things fair for those who had an off day.

πŸ“œ Rule 7 – The Weather Penalty
🌧️πŸŒͺ️ Playing in horrendous weather? (Think sideways rain, howling wind, and the kind of conditions that make you question your life choices). If we all agree it was awful, every player gets a +1 shot adjustment to compensate.

πŸ“Š While all of this is going on, the website is also calculating your official WHS handicap in the background. Normally, the World Handicap System (WHS) kicks in after 3 rounds, but we’ve built it into the match results report so players can track how their β€œtrue” handicap is shaping up right from the start.

Once players have completed three rounds, we’ll be able to compare the Race to Horne Handicap with the WHS Handicap. If there’s a massive difference between the two, we’ll have a discussion and decide whether we want to adjust things accordingly – or just embrace the chaos! πŸŽβ›³

Either way, expect some spirited debates, statistical deep dives, and possibly a pint or two while we figure it out. 🍻

Each match has a Total Players Count, but only the top ten places score championship points. Your rank is determined by:

πŸ“Š 1️⃣ Total Stableford Score – The higher, the better!
πŸ“Š 2️⃣ Over/Under Expected Score – A calculation based on your Course Handicap and an expected stroke count.
πŸ“Š 3️⃣ Back Five Performance – If there’s a tie, we check who had the strongest finish over the last five holes.
πŸ“Š 4️⃣ Last Hole Performance – If it’s still tied, it’s down to the final hole pressure test!
πŸ“Š 5️⃣ Total Strokes – If all else fails, the fewer strokes taken, the better.

Once the rankings are sorted, players earn points as follows:

πŸ† 1st Place β†’ 10 points
πŸ₯ˆ 2nd Place β†’ 9 points
πŸ₯‰ 3rd Place β†’ 8 points
πŸŽ–οΈ 4th Place β†’ 7 points
πŸ… 5th Place β†’ 6 points
πŸ’ͺ 6th Place β†’ 5 points
πŸ‘ 7th Place β†’ 4 points
πŸ‘ 8th Place β†’ 3 points
πŸ™Œ 9th Place β†’ 2 points
πŸ‘Š 10th Place β†’ 1 point
🚫 11th and below β†’ No points, better luck next time!

Each player’s round record is updated in real-time, showing:
πŸ“Œ Round Points Earned
πŸ“Œ Expected Score (Handicap + 9-Hole Par Adjustment)
πŸ“Œ Difference from Expected Score
πŸ“Œ Final Rank in the Round
πŸ“Œ Back Five Performance
πŸ“Œ Last Hole Performance

βš–οΈ The Fine Line Between Victory & Defeat

This system makes every hole a battleground. You might start slow, but a strong back five can push you up the leaderboard. On the flip side, a late collapse could cost you points.

With every match played, the leaderboard shifts, and consistency is key to taking home the season title.
